ABOUT THE PRINT
Originally created for an exhibition at Damn Fine Print under the theme of "Electric Dreams" this piece highlights the disconnection felt in a technology-driven era.

I drew this after listening to a podcast with William Shatner where he talked about his visit to space courtesy of Jeff Bezos, and the profound sadness he felt as a result. Looking down at the Earth he thought “It was life. Nurturing, sustaining, life." Because everything we know and love is here on Earth.

Back on the ground more billionaires are trying to convince us to train computers to make artwork with too many fingers, and strap screens to our faces as a means to improve our existence, disregarding the appreciation for our current world, which is being lost. Go Outside.

RISOGRAPH PRINTING
This piece is made using the process of 𝓻𝓲𝓼𝓸𝓰𝓻𝓪𝓹𝓱 𝓹𝓻𝓲𝓷𝓽𝓲𝓷𝓰 which is a single colour process similar to screen printing, but done using a machine that resembles a photocopier. The machine uses high-resolution stencils wrapped around drums of soy-based ink, to print one colour at a time and create uniquely inky, textural and tactile prints like this one.
